For the past three years, I have participated in the Be The One local mission trips. Each year gets better and better and I grow more and more.  My first year, I was nervous and didn’t really want to be there. I had been struggling with high levels of anxiety and lack of self-control. In preparation for the trip, I was told that I would be sharing my testimony… everything in me did not want to. At the time, I didn’t understand the importance of sharing my story and I had never identified what my story was. With some guidance, I was able to put my thoughts on paper. A few days later in a state of panic, I told my testimony. Even though I had thoughts of nervousness and doubt, my testimony was still powerful. Because I shared my story, I was able to have a conversation with a woman who was struggling with the same things as me. I also began to step into healing and I no longer battle those same challenges. The local mission trips have helped me grow each year and I have developed a deeper understanding of who I am in Christ.
