The speed of Growth: Nothing Happens Fast

Activate: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Elevate: I don’t know about you but my whole life I’ve wanted to be further down the road than where I currently was. It doesn’t matter if I’m driving, building a business, parenting, or working on my marriage I already want to be done with the journey and arrive. This is naive thinking on my part because no one gets to skip the process. The process is what molds and defines a person.

Anyone can start something, but to stay committed is a different story. As I meet with people from all over the country, many want to grow but soon become discouraged when growth doesn’t happen quickly. Let me tell you nothing happens fast. When you get saved there is an instant renewal that happens in your spirit, but learning the heart of God takes time. This is why we study and commit to learn our faith. It’s this process that solidifies our maturity.

For the last twenty-seven days you have continued to reach your hand out to the Lord and say, God I want more. This mentality will always move out to deeper waters. God is so huge that you can’t exhaust all that He has to teach you. As long as you have breath in your lungs then maturing in your faith should be a top priority. Growth takes time, effort, and experience. We are not looking for fast growth that appears quickly we are looking for permanent practices that are strong and lasting. Don’t get tired of the process and remember nothing happens fast.

Cultivate: It’s key in personal growth to recognize other’s progress. Encourage 3 people today in their growth as a believer. Message them on Facebook, send them a text or give them a call.
